Rawat Vongla depicts a beautiful pink lotus blossoming in a blue pond. Its fragile stem gently swaying in stylized golden stream, while Bodhi Tree leaves illuminate the background. Buddha was sleeping under this holly tree when he attained enlightenment. The open lotus signifies enlightenment. The Thai artist uses these elements as devotional symbols. Rawat signs and writes his name in Thai at the bottom of the piece.

This painting was made by Rawat Vongla. The artist was born in Udon Thani, in north-east Thailand. He studied Art and later Design. He graduated with a master degree from Rajamangala University of Technology in Chiang Mai. He has exhibited his artworks several times in Thailand and received 4 awards.
