Description:
In this naïf painting by Buesui, goddess Amata meditates. "Amata is the first mother, or the first goddess, of the Akha people. She is not so well known because her epic is only transmitted orally. I depicted her here naked with a fair complexion. Her face has male and female features. She sits cross-legged and meditates. The powerful purple light that emanates from her body rends the darkness" says the Akha artist.
Signed and painted by the artist in 2011.
