Description:
Bodhi tree leaves fall off towards three pink lotuses. The Bodhi Tree was a large and old pipal (a variety of fig) tree, under which Buddha achieved enlightenment while meditating. The pink lotus is the supreme lotus. It represents the historical Buddha and the historical legends of the Buddha. "Religious and devout people often hide dark sides behind the principles of Buddhism," says artist Pairote Sitthikaew. "Buddha's face here appears serene, whereas a demon is about to spring from his nose."
