Painting with a palette of oils, artist Akkpoup Prukpeeti captures Nawarat Bridge early in the morning. "Nawarat Bridge is one of Chiang Mai landmarks. It is the second bridge that was built in Chiang Mai, around 1890. It always makes me think of the long history of Chiang Mai. I wanted to paint it to link my feelings to this town, my new home, and its history. I painted the bridge before sunrise on a very sunny day," the artist explains.

About the Artist:
This painting was made by Akkpoup Prukpeeti. The artist was born in 1969 in the province of Prachuapkeereekan in southern Thailand. He graduated with a bachelor degree, majoring in sculpture, and studied stucco at the Royal Pages School. He now lives and paints in Chiang Mai, a city that fascinates him.
