Nawapoomin Chaichompoo depicts a woman with her eyes closed as if she enjoys thinking of the things around her. The artist likes to depict the serenity of the beauty of the people and costumes in Laplang, an ancient community with a culture and customs that are distinct from other communities in Lanna (northern Thailand—Laplang is in Laplae Sub-district of Uttaradit Province).

About the Artist:
This painting was made by Nawapoomin Chaichompoo. He was born in Chiang Mai and grew up with his elder brother in a warm family environment. He studied dentistry and fine arts at Chiang Mai University. Working on art takes him into another world where he is alone and free. His personal interest and the artistic and cultural environment of Chiang Mai has drawn him into becoming a play-writer and director, a movie director, a short story writer and an art and culture events organizer. Nawapoomin has exhibited his artworks 6 times from 2002 to 2012.
