This skirt is made with "Pha Mai Yok Dok." "Pha Mai" means silk and "Yok Dok" is a weaving technique where the patterns are set in the warp with additional pattern heddles placed behind the main heddles and suspended over the warp with a support hung from the frame..

About the Artisan:
This product is handcrafted by Amporn Kantee. She was born into a farming family in 1953 and grew up in the village of her birth in Lamphun Province. "As a Thai woman from a small village, when I look back I think I have always done the best I could for my family and community. I am happy with what I do and what I have. I live a simple life and don’t want much more than what I have today," says the master weaver.
