In this painting, Buddha sits in a position called 'taking the earth to witness', a common representation depicting Buddha touching the ground with his right hand to summon the earth goddess to subdue Mara. Mara is a demon who tries and prevent Buddha from attaining enlightenment.

Artist Rawat Vongla names this painting gold light. The artist works with a palette of cool blue acrylics to convey a feeling of imperturbability and peace. Painted and signed in 2008.
