Description:

In this painting by Rawat Vongla, the enigmatic face of Buddha's emerges from the background. Serene, open and unveiled from every angle, the face conveys a feeling of peace and gentleness. In the foreground, the artist paints blossomed lotuses and Bodhi tree leaves. The Bodhi Tree refers to the tree under which the Buddha achieved enlightenment. The open lotus itself symbolizes enlightenment. The Thai artist uses these elements as devotional symbols. Rawat signs and writes his name in Thai at the bottom of the piece.
